Floor sanding HDR WIX 1

it’s a dust containment or control system.

Ultimate goal of a dust containment system

Provide maximum dust control and containment with a minimum of dust collection.

Dust Containment System

A transparent tank that houses the

Longopac bag and offers another level

of security in the event the bag tears or bursts

The original HEPA filter was designed in

the 1940s and was used in the

Manhattan Project to prevent the spread

of airborne radioactive contaminants.

It was commercialised in the 1950s,

and the original term became a registered

trademark and a generic term for

highly efficient filters.

HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters

are hospital grade filters designed

to arrest very fine particles

effectively.

Unlike membrane filters at this pore size, where particles as wide as the largest opening or distance between fibres cannot pass in between them at all,

Where particles following a line of flow in the air stream come within one radius of a fibre and adhere to it.

Where larger particles are unable to avoid fibres by following the curving contours of the air stream and are forced to embed in one of them directly; this effect increases with diminishing fibre separation and higher air flow velocity.

An enhancing mechanism that is a result of the collision with gas molecules by the smallest particles, especially those below 0.1 µm in diameter, which are thereby impeded and delayed in their path through the filter; this action raises the probability that a particle will be stopped by either of the two mechanisms above; it becomes dominant at lower air flow velocities.

it's unlike any other dust containment unit you have ever seen.

Designed for the floor sanding market, collecting even the finest dust particles.

It is far more efficient for the fast recovery of fine wood dust.

It can be connected to any of our floor sanders

The Longo Pack is a continious bag

fitted in the DCS unit desinged

to keep the dust away from us.

Tie it off with a pull tie,

Tie another tie two inches higher, cut the bag

between the two ties.

We now have a bag of dust to throw away

and a new bag in place to keep working.

All this was done without contact with any dust.

We did not believe a wood floor

could be sanded with

virtually no dust

A first we were a little skeptical

about the claims made

for the DCS unit.

There was no need to use

protective face masks,

no plastic hung on doors.

While sanding the air was clean.

There was virtually no dust left behind

This thing realy worked -

we liked the system so much

We immediately purchased two DCS units.

Our jobs are healthier for our clients

and ourselves.

After the first job

With the introduction of the DCS Dust Containment System,

Acorn Floor Sanding are the pioneers for dustless floor sanding.

In fact one of only a few floor sanding company who can sand wood floors

We always used a traditional cloth bag on all our machines

A HEPA filter rating is applicable to any highly efficient air filter that can attain the same filter efficiency performance

Simple to use and very efficent

HEPA filters are designed to

target much smaller pollutants

and particles.

The dust will fall down into a

transparent dust container

under the cyclone separator.

The Teflon like coated HEPA air filters capture 99.97% of materials down to 0.3 microns.

Air tests show the DCS is over 100 times cleaner than the old cloth bag system.

Take a quick glance

at this revolutionary concept

Part 3 -

The common assumption that a HEPA filter acts like a sieve

Where particles smaller than the largest opening can pass through is incorrect.

These particles are trapped (they stick to a fibre) through a combination of the following three mechanisms:

Interception

Impaction

Diffusion

Knowing what we know about Dust toxins, carcinogens and Volatile Organic Compounds.

We can no longer be careless about what we do and how we do it.
